treams.special.vpol2car(v, r) = <ufunc 'vpol2car'>

Convert vector in polar coordinates to vector in cartesian coordinates

The polar vector \((v_\rho, v_\varphi)\) at coordinates \((\rho, \varphi)\) is converted to \((v_x, v_y)\) with

\[\begin{split}\begin{pmatrix} v_x \\ v_y \end{pmatrix} = \begin{pmatrix} \cos \varphi & -\sin \varphi \\ \sin \varphi & \cos \varphi \end{pmatrix} \begin{pmatrix} v_\rho \\ v_\varphi \end{pmatrix}\end{split}\]
Parameters:
  • v (float or complex, 3-array) – Vector in 3-dimensional cylindrical space

  • r (float, 3-array) – Cylindrical coordinates in 3-dimensional space

Returns:

float or complex, 3-array
